Department of Tourism

A list of small, medium and micro enterprises that benefited from the Tourism Relief Fund has been made available.

In a statement, the tourism department indicated that the R200 million relief successfully supported 4000 businesses.

The Tourism Relief Fund provided a once-off capped grant of R50 000 per entity to subsidise expenses such as fixed costs, operational costs and other cost items.

According to the tourism minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, in an earlier statement, approximately 6 000 completed applications for grant assistance were received from across the country.

The department declared that the “allocation of funds to ordinary South Africans, was conducted in line with government policies and ensured that the benefit is spread geographically across the country to cover even businesses in small villages and townships”.
