Salaries for Public Office Bearers Set Down

The Presidency

The deputy president will receive a salary of R2 825 470 for 2020/21.

The presidency announced the salary in Government Gazette 44570 in terms of the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act.

Ministers will be paid R2 401 633 while deputy ministers will receive R1 977 795.

Proclamation 18 sets down the salaries for members of the national assembly (NA) and permanent delegates to the national council of provinces (NCOP).

Salaries include R2 825 470 for the speaker of the NA and the chairperson of the NCOP, R1 882 488 for the house chairperson, R1 600 467 for the leader of the opposition and R1 137 933 for members of the NA and permanent delegates to the NCOP.

In Proclamation 17, salaries and allowances of premiers, members of the executive councils and members of the provincial legislatures are set down.

Premiers will receive R2 260 409, member of executive council R1 977 795, chairperson of a committee R1 346 235 and member of provincial legislature R1 101 348.
