Road Accident Fund Shines Light on Administration of Claims

June 24, 2021

Road Accident Fund

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has withdrawn the terms and conditions for the administration of claims for compensation published earlier this month.

The terms and conditions were published in Government Gazette 44674 on 4 June 2021.

They were drawn up in terms of the Road Accident Fund Act.

A claim’s supporting documents for death and injury benefits were listed in order to ensure that a valid claim is lodged.

Mandatory information and documentation to be submitted for claims payments was also set down.

A new RAF 1 claim form was also published.

In Gazette 44746, the RAF announced the withdrawal and also suspended, until further notice, the effective date of the substitution of the RAF 1 Form.

In Gazette 44747, the RAF published draft terms and conditions for the administration of claims for compensation for comment.

Comment on the draft terms and conditions including supporting documents for death and injury benefits and mandatory information and documentation to be submitted for claims payments is invited within 30 days of the date of publication.
