Regulations on Wearing of Face Masks Amended

Covid-19 Regulations on the wearing of face masks have been amended.

The cooperative governance department published the amended Regulations in Government Gazette 44721 in terms of Disaster Management Act Regulations.

A new subregulation (2) is inserted into Regulation 34 on mandatory protocols when in a public place.

It stipulates that the wearing of face masks in public is mandatory except for children under six years of age.

A new subregulation (11) on measures that banks and non-bank financial institutions must take regarding automated teller machines is also inserted.

The amended Regulations came into effect on the date of publication.
