Promotion of Access to Information Act Manual Exemption

Certain private bodies have been exempted from compiling a Promotion of Access to Information Act Manual.

The justice and constitutional development department published the exemption notice in Government Gazette 44003.

The exemption does not apply to private bodies that are not private companies as defined in section 1 of the Companies Act.

The exemption does also not apply to private companies that operate within the sectors mentioned in Column 1 of the Schedule to the Notice and have 50 or more employees in their employment or have a total annual turnover that is equal to or more than the applicable amount mentioned in Column 2 of the Schedule to the Notice.

The exemption applies for six months from 1 January to 30 June 2021.

In Gazette 44005, the department published correction notices to amended regulations relating to assistance to victims in respect of basic education and higher education and training (Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act):


• Notice 1364 – correction notice: amendment of regulations relating to assistance to victims in respect of basic education – cut-off date for the submission of applications for assistance is 30 November 2020 by new applicants for the 2021 school year;
• Notice 1365 – correction notice: amendment of the regulations relating to assistance to victims in respect of higher education and training – new Form 3 inserted.
