Plant Improvement Act Regulations Amended

Regulations Relating to Establishments, Varieties, Plants and Propagating Material have been amended.

The agriculture, land reform and rural development department published the amendment in Government Gazette 42788.

The amendment was drawn up in terms of the Plant Improvement Act.

Table 8 of the regulations is amended by the insertion of dry bean and dry pea into the alphabetically correct position according to the relevant kind of plant in the table.

The insertions applied from 1 September 2019.

Meanwhile, in Board Notice 178, unclaimed monies payable to principals of fresh produce agents have been listed.

The unclaimed monies have been paid to the Registrar of the Agricultural Produce Agents Council in terms of Section 21(2) of the Agricultural Produce Agents Act.

Persons who are of the opinion that he/she is entitled to an indicated amount must claim it within 90 days from the date of publication of the notice.
