The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) seeks new members.
The call for nominations was published in Government Gazette 42622.
The MHSC flows from the Mine Health and Safety Act.
It’s tasked with advising the minister of mineral resources and energy on occupational health and safety at mines, research programmes and the review of mine health and safety regulations.
According to the notice, nominations are sought from trade unions and employers operating in the mining industry.
The nominations form part of the process to reconstitute the MHSC for the period 1 October 2019 until 30 October 2022.
The MHSC is reconstituted every three years.
Nominations are invited until 23 August 2019.
