National Nuclear Regulator Seeks Board Members

Nominations of suitable candidates to serve on the National Nuclear Regulator’s (NNR) Board are sought.

The energy department published the call for nominations in Government Gazette 42630.

The NNR is responsible for the protection of persons, property and the environment against radiation hazards from nuclear installations and actions such as mining and minerals processing.

It is also responsible for granting nuclear authorisations and exercising regulatory control related to the safety of nuclear installations and nuclear-powered vessels and those transporting radioactive material.

Relevant areas of interest that candidates are expected to possess include Nuclear Science, Nuclear Engineering and Nuclear Medicine; Radiation Sciences, Radiation Technology and Radiation Protection; Nuclear Manufacturing Principles; Radiation Protection and/or Corporate governance, Company Law and/or Nuclear Law.

Applications are invited until 30 August 2019.
