Department of Health
The list of advisories presented to the health minister, Zweli Mkhize, by the Ministerial Advisory Committee on COVID-19 has been published.
In a statement, the health department declared that the release follows requests from various stakeholders to have sight of the advisories.
“As has been stated by the Minister publicly, almost all the advisories were accepted and implemented by the Department and government.”
The department points out that the recommendations made in the advisories were also presented at National Coronavirus Command Council level.
“This assisted government in taking into account the clinical and science based view, amongst others, when making its decisions.”
The department indicated that less than 5% of the advisories were not implemented by the department in their entirety.
“This followed consultations with various stakeholders and in some instances, guidelines published by institutions such as the WHO.”
45 advisories are currently available to the public.
