Financial Sector Conduct Authority

JSE Listings Requirements have been amended.
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority published notification of the amendments in Government Gazette 42380.
Notification was made in terms of Section 11(6)(d)(ii) of the Financial Markets Act.
The amendments come into effect on 24 April 2019.
Meanwhile, in Gazette 42381, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) has announced amendments to Customs and Excise Act Rules (DAR 181).
A new paragraph (bb) is inserted into Rule 38.14A.
It deals with various types of verification including ID numbers, passport numbers or taxpayer reference numbers.
Rule 59A is also amended.
In Notice 563, SARS has published an amendment of Schedule 1 of the act dealing with the method of determining the sugar content of sugary beverages liable for the health promotion levy.
In the absence of a test report, the sugar content of the sugary beverage will be deemed to constitute 20 grams per 100 millilitres.
In Notice 562, SARS published amendments to (DAR 182) Rules focused on sugary beverages.
