Members of the Steel Committee of the International Trade and Administration Commission (ITAC) have been appointed.
The economic development department published the list of appointees in Government Gazette 42665.
The appointments were made in terms of Section 14 of the International Trade Administration Act.
The Steel Committee is tasked with monitoring and making recommendations to ITAC on the impact of the changes in import tariffs and trade remedies applicable to the primary steel industry; commitments made by applicants for such changes in import tariffs, jobs in the steel industry and import and export trends in the local steel sector.
The list of members is appointed from the date of publication of the notice until 9 June 2021.
The Steel Committee is expected to report to the ITAC at least every six months.
