ITAC Seeks Permit Applications for Used Overcoats

The International Trade Administration Commission has called for permit applications for rebate item 460.11/00.00/01.00 including used overcoats, car-coats, raincoats and parkas.

The economic development department published the invitation in Government Gazette 42956.

New importers for the listed items of clothing are invited to submit applications within three weeks of the date of publication.

New importers are requested to read and comply with the interim guidelines, rules and conditions pertaining to the rebate provision concerned before submitting an application.

A quota of a maximum of 20 000kg per importer will be imposed on 5 new importers for 2020.

Importers require both rebate and import permits.

Meanwhile, the trade and industry department, in Notice 33, confirmed that the OR Tambo International Airport Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has been extended to incorporate the Tshwane Automotive Hub SEZ.

The Tshwane Automotive Hub SEZ is located in Silverton to the east of Tshwane.

The expanded area consists of 162.6 Ha “bordered on the north and east by the Moretele View, Naledi and Nellmapius residential areas and the Mamelodi Hospital, to the south by the R506 and to the west by the Waltloo Industrial Estate”.

The OR Tambo SEZ was designated in September last year and comment on the proposed extension was called for in the same month.
