Disaster Management Act Regulations Amended

Amendments to Disaster Management Act Regulations adjusting the curfew to 10pm were published in Government Gazette 43577.

Published by the cooperative governance and traditional affairs department, the amendments also amend Regulation 37 on gatherings.

The Regulations stipulate that only journalists, radio, television crew, security personnel, emergency medical services, and the necessary employees employed by the owners of the venue of the sport match, are allowed at the venue of both professional non-contact and contact sport matches.

No spectators are allowed and no international sports events can take place.

The Regulations also stipulate that tourist attractions must remain closed except for intra-provincial private self-drive excursion activities and guided tours.

Accommodation facilities can now be used for intra-provincial leisure purposes while short term home sharing/letting/leasing/rental remain excluded.
