Directions to Combat COVID-19 in Railway Operations Amended

Directions to combat Covid-19 in railway operations for Alert Level 1 have been amended.

The transport department published the amended Directions in Government Gazette 44326 in terms of Disaster Management Act Regulations.

A new Direction 13 on rail services in inserted.

It stipulates that the Passenger Rail Agency (PRASA) will continue the provision of commuter services.

PRASA must also announce the resumption of any commuter rail services that were previously suspended and Gautrain may continue to provide commuter services.

The amended Directions came into effect on the date of publication.
