The Directions apply to all functionaries listed in the Annexure exercising powers or performing functions relating to the processes and services listed in Table 1, Part D of the Regulations published in Notice 480 on 29 April 2020.

Table 1 Part D focused on construction and related services.

Permitted activities include civil engineering for public works projects in so far as it relates to energy including petroleum operations, import of drill rigs and the import of rig operators and associated technical skills required for the drilling operations.

The Directions stipulate that drill operators and all associated personnel must be quarantined for at least 14 days upon arrival in South Africa.

The Directions came into effect on the date of publication.
