Directions on gatherings relating to sports, arts and culture activities have been published.

The sports, arts and culture department published the Directions in Government Gazette 44055 in terms of Disaster Management Act Regulations.

Paragraph 2 of the Directions is amended by the insertion of a new subparagraph (d) stipulating that sporting activities, including professional matches, by recognized sporting bodies are allowed subject to adherence to set times on condition that only necessary employees and required players, match officials, support staff and medical crew are present.

No spectators are allowed at sporting venues.

Amendments to paragraph 6D stipulate that alcohol may not be consumed at sporting events including parks and the start time for matches must comply with the cut-off time of 20h00.

A new paragraph 6I on closing and opening of places or premises to public is also inserted.

The amended Directions came into effect on the date of publication.
