Directions on Community Nutrition Development Centres Published

Directions to combat Covid-19 in Community Nutrition Development Centres have been drawn up.

The social development department published the Directions in Government Gazette 44824 in terms of Disaster Management Act Regulations.

The Directions apply for the duration of Adjusted Alert Level 4 Lockdown.

In terms of Community Nutrition and Development Centres (CNDC), the Directions focus on symptom screening, social distancing, personal protective equipment and health protocols for facilities or centres.

Sitting and eating at CNDCs is prohibited but visits by beneficiaries to CNDCs to collect food is allowed.

The Directions also stipulate that visits to older persons’ residential facilities are prohibited during Adjusted Alert Level 4.

The Adjusted Level 4 Directions for older persons’ residential facilities and Community Nutrition Development Centres came into effect on the date of publication.
