Procedures for export quotas under the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union (EU) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) for 2021 have been published.
The agriculture, land reform and rural development department published the procedures in Government Gazette 43910.
The SADC-EU EPA package contains agricultural products to be exported by South Africa into the EU market under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) regime.
The SADC-EU EPA TRQ package offers South Africa enhanced market access for agricultural products.
Applications for export permits must be submitted within two weeks from the date of publication of the notice.
Permits will be valid from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2021.
Permits for the products specified in the Table will be allocated on the basis of the Preferential Market Access Permit Allocation System.
Annual permits will cost R1 210.00 per permit.
