Independent Communications Authority

Comment is sought on a list of applications for Pre-Registration for Community Sound Broadcasting Service Licences.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) published the list in Government Gazette 43755.

The invitation to pre-register for Community Sound Broadcasting Service and Radio Frequency Spectrum Licences was published in Gazette 42835 in November 2019.

In an earlier statement, ICASA indicated that the pre-registration process follows, among others, the lifting of the moratorium in respect of applications for both class community sound broadcasting service licences and radio frequency spectrum licenses for purposes of providing community sound broadcasting services and the finalisation of the Community Broadcasting Services Regulations.

Written representations on the applications are invited within 14 days of the date of publication.
