Comment Period for Draft Health Regulations Extended

The comment period for draft health regulations designed to manage the Covid-19 pandemic and future pandemics going forward has been extended.

The health department published the extension notice in Government Gazette 46243.

The draft regulations, published for comment in Gazette 46045 in March 2022, were drawn up in terms of the National Health Act.

They focus on the surveillance and the control of notifiable medical conditions; public health measures in points of entry; management of human remains and environmental health.

Comment is now invited until 24 April 2022.

Other notices include:

  • Gazette 46236 – Health Professions Council of South Africa – Health Professions Act – annual fees payable by registered practitioners – with effect from 1 April 2022; and
  • Gazette 46237 – Health Professions Council of South Africa – Health Professions Act – Rules Relating to Fees Payable to Council – fees payable with effect from 1 April 2022.
