The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has introduced a new electronic filing channel for Company and Close Corporation forms.

The trade and industry department announced this in Government Gazette 42775.

According to the CIPC, the new filing channel was set up by way of an electronic web based portal called Bizportal.

The new electronic channel will be introduced as from 1 October 2019 or a later date as communicated via the CIPC website.

Meanwhile, the department has confirmed that the Second South Africa Investment Conference (SAIC) 2019 will be held from 5-7 November at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

In a statement, the department declared that “…leaders from local and international business, government, and the investment community will come together to explore exciting investment opportunities…”.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Accelerating Economic Growth by Building Partnerships”.

The trade and industry minister, Ebrahim Patel, described the SAIC 2019 as an “ideal opportunity for government, local and international businesses to partner on new projects which can further position South Africa as a centre of innovation and investment growth.”
