CIPC De-Activates Email Filing Channels

November 18, 2019

Department of Trade and Industry

18 November 2019

The Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission (CIPC) has announced the de-activation of email filing channels.

The trade and industry department published notification of the de-activation in Government Gazette 42839.

Channels to be closed include company financial year end changes, company address changes and company name changes via the CIPC dedicated email addresses for such services.

The de-activation, effective from 1 December 2019, does not apply to external companies.

External companies must file the above-mentioned changes via the communicated email address on the CIPC website “since confirmation of such change in the primary jurisdiction of registration/incorporation is required as supporting evidence to such change”.

The CIPC also announced that company financial year end changes, company address changes and company name changes may only be filed via any of the authorized electronic channels listed on the CIPC website as from 1 December 2019.
