Council for the Built Environment
The Council for the Built Environment (CBE) is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join its audit committee.
The CBE is mandated to coordinate six professional councils operating in the construction sector. It was set up by the Council for the Built Environment Act of 2000.
The CBE’s objectives are to promote good conduct within the professions, transforming the professions and providing advice to government on built environment issues.
The councils include architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, project and construction management, property valuation and quantity surveying.
The notice, published in Government Gazette 38032, points out that candidates with relevant financial qualifications will be preferred.
Applicants will be expected to possess knowledge on:
• Corporate governance principles;
• Internal and external audit functions;
• Public finance management act and treasury regulations; and
• Management principles and ethics.
The successful candidate will participate as one of three external members of the audit committee.
