The Presidency
Those who test positive for Covid-19 with no symptoms do not have to isolate.
This is one of the changes to Adjusted Alert Level 1 Regulations approved by cabinet at a special cabinet meeting earlier this week.
In a statement, the presidency confirmed that South Africa has exited the fourth wave at a national level.
Other changes approved by cabinet include:
• Isolation period reduced from 10 to 7 days for those with a positive test and symptoms; and
• Contacts do not have to isolate unless they develop symptoms.
The presidency indicated that the changes follow a substantial increase in the number of people with immunity to Covid-19.
The presidency also announced that all schools will return to full-time learning.
The changes to Adjusted Alert Level 1 Regulations apply with immediate effect.
