Amendments Proposed to Civil Aviation Regulations

Proposed amendments to the Civil Aviation Regulations have been drawn up.

The transport department published a call for comment on the draft amendments in Government Gazette 42581.

The regulations flow from the Civil Aviation Act.

Amendments are proposed to the following Parts:


• Schedule 1: Part 61 (Pilot Licensing)
• Schedule 2: Part 91 (General Aviation & Operating Flight Rules)
• Schedule 3: Part 93 (Corporate Operations)
• Schedule 4: Part 135 (Air Transport Operations – Carriage of less than 20 Passengers or Cargo)
• Schedule 5: Part 121 (Air Transport Operations – Carriage on Aeroplanes of more than 19 Passengers or Cargo)

Amendments are also proposed to the following Technical Standard:


• Schedule 6: SA CATS 44 (Maintenance Rules – Non-type Certificated Aircraft)

Comment is invited until 15 August 2019.
