Department of Transport
The transport department has republished the invitation for nomination of persons to serve as members of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Appeals Tribunal.
The invitation is published in Government Gazette 44177.
The Appeals Tribunal was set up to adjudicate on matters brought to it by road traffic infringers aggrieved by decisions taken in terms of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Amendment Act.
It also is tasked with hearing appeals or reviewing any decision referred to it and making any ruling or order necessary or incidental to the performance of its functions in terms of the act.
Appeals Tribunal members serve a five-year term and can be appointed for one additional term.
The original invitation, published in Gazette 44092, sought comment within four weeks from the date of publication.
Nominations are now invited within 30 days of the date of publication.
